Little Lever won the toss and asked Bradshaw to bat on aa easy paced track. Bradshaw's first four batsmen all contributed with professional Amol Mazundar scoring a very comfortable 66. Deputy pro Adil Nisar was unusually expensive and Mo Adnan took four for 95. Both of Little Lever's opening batsmen gave a chance, but were otherwise untroubled as they raced to 169. What a difference a week makes. After a brilliant display against Walkden last week, the first team were bowled out for 80 and lost by 7 wickets.
Little Lever scored a convincing victory over Walkden at Victory Road. Batting first the village scored an impressive 202 for 9 on a tricky wicket. Adam Worrall & Mark Martin again in the runs with 57 & 41 respectively. Walkden only managed 129 all out as the Lever bowlers kept the pressure on. Professional Ullah was the chief destroyer with his 5 wickets. Its quite interesting to realise the ability of Little Lever to turn over the teams at the top of the table this year. The burning question is why do they still lingering mid-table in the league. Its a long season though and a Lancs KO place must be the big target.
It was not a good day for the village as they were bowled out by the visitors for 145 by the spinners. It all seemed a bit strange as the Little Lever pitch has favoured the spinners all year and they have batted well on the wicket all season. Some aggressive batting from the visitors saw them to victory.
It was a disastrous day for the village as they crashed to a 196 run defeat at the hands of Farnworth professional, Brenton Parchment who scored 182 from 102 balls as the visitors reached 342 for 8.
Little Lever won the toss on a warm summers day and inserted the home side. It was a good start with the home side batting well on a slow turning wicket. They reached 150 for 2 wickets with 15 overs left before a poor finish to the innings started. Farnworth only managed another fifty runs due to some accurate bowling by Little Lever's pro Nauman Ullah, who ended up with seven wickets. Parchment top scored with another 80, but when he left the crease, the innings fell apart. It has been hard for the lower order this year as they have not had any batting time in the middle. In reply, the Little Lever openers did a good job on an unresponsive wicket. Adam Worrall & Saf Ismael got the visitors off to a great start and when they were dismissed the experience of pro, Nauman Ullah and John Kerrigan saw the visitors to victory by 6 wickets.
Kearsley batted first and were 193 all out thanks to a well played 60 from Jordon Thornley. In reply Little Lever passed this total with 3 wickets remaining with John Kerrigan scoring 50.
No Play due to rain in the match against Egerton
The Tyldesleys pitch produced another good match under adverse conditions. Little Lever produced an excellent 267 for 6, with Adam Worrall 109 and pro Ullah 54 being the main contributors. Westhoughton set a target of 186 due to the rain, won the match with new professional, Dale Richards, on debut scoring 93 not out. Rather a sad result for Little Lever after being in such command after the first innings.
Little Lever batting first, scored a very respectable 219 all out with the main contributions coming from pro Ullah 89 and Mark Martin 54. Adam Street bowled well for his 6 wickets. Tonge batted for 21 overs in the rain and eventually fell 2 runs short of victory as the game ended in a draw. Nisar scored another half-century.
Sadly, Little Lever were destroyed by Greenmount on a sunny spring day. Greenmount batted first and scored a massive 303 for 4 with pro Zaidi scoring 99 and John Ashworth 91 not out. Little Lever had no answer for the experienced bowling of Mark Stewart and Mohammed who both claimed 5 wickets.
Little Lever convincingly beat Farnworth Social Circle on Saturday by 72 runs. Professional, Hussain provided the backbone of the innings, with 76 runs in a total of 213 for 9. After early wickets, mainly due to the quality bowling of the up and coming Curtis Anderton, Farnworth Social Circle never recovered and only managed 141. Anderton ended with 4 wickets.
